Signature Reflections

It may seem obvious to say, but I am proud that I did a Signature project. I'm proud that I was able to see it through to completion. There were moments a' plenty when I had to stop and pull myself together before forging ahead once more, but I did that! Last year, making the lute into a Signature project was one of my greatest dreams. Now I've dreamt it.

The challenge was fitting everything together. With school, sports, college, and life clamoring to be heard over one another, it was difficult to make the time to meet deadlines, and more importantly, have fun and enjoy immersing myself int he project. That was my greatest disappointment: not being able to really enjoy the material.

So to Signature students of the future, my advice is something you've probably heard before: Lear to manage your time. And I don't just mean that you should delete all accounts on social media. Rather, what I want to tell you is that you don't have to do everything. Should you do many things? Yes, absolutely! But do you have to do them all right now? No, not at all. In fact, I think the great irony is that the more that you try to do right-now-I-will-get-into-all-eight-ivies-on-full-scholarship-now!, the less you are actually able to accomplish. Accomplish meaningfully. And life is all about meaning, figuring out what it means to you.
That's what I mean when I suggest you should learn how to manage you time.

Best of luck!
